The Screenplay: Scene 4

John stared in frustration at the woodblock print he had been working on. Despite SHINJI's repeated advice, he still had not been able to get the hang of using the tools. He felt overwhelmed by the task and his anxiety was growing.
SHINJI watched patiently as John slowly chipped away at the block. He could see that the young man was struggling and he knew that it would take time for him to get a feel for the tools.
"It's ok, John," said SHINJI. "Take a deep breath and try again. You'll get it eventually."
John tried to take SHINJI's advice, but the results still weren't very good. The edges were uneven, the lines weren't straight, and the overall effect wasn't quite what he was hoping for. He sighed in frustration.
"It's alright, John. This is a difficult skill to learn," said SHINJI. "But if you keep practicing, you will get better."
John nodded and tried again, but still the results were unsatisfactory. He slumped down in his chair, feeling discouraged. SHINJI smiled kindly and ruffled John's hair.
