Description

Left senjafuda slip: The Daimoku Mantra appears to Nichiren on the waves of a turbulent sea on his way to Sado Island. The Mantra calms the sea and Nichiren is able to reach the island safely.

Central senjafuda slip: Nichirō, a disciple of Nichiren, travels over snowy mountains to deliver a letter of pardon from Hōjō Tokimune, de facto ruler of Japan, to Nichiren, who is visible in the distance.

Right senjafuda slip: Nichiren (with Nichirō by his side) praying for (or converting) the spirit of a cormorant fisherman on the Isawa River in Kai Province.
