Description
One design from 'Eight Snow Scenes in the Eastern Capital', this print has a fabulous story behind it (see the main entry for this series for more details!).
As evening falls in Tokyo, chilly patrons set sail for a night of frivolity in lantern-lit yakatabune. The man inside the yakatabune in the foreground doesn't seem very happy... Perhaps he has just discovered there is no o-sake on board...
