The Screenplay: Scene 2

Posted by Dave Bull on December 18, 2022 [Permalink]

(Note from Dave: we are 'feeding' the Bot bit by bit, asking it to move forward with our screenplay. Oscars, here we come!)

The room was quiet, the only sound coming from the faint rustle of paper and the occasional creak of the wooden floor boards. John stood in the middle of the room, the dust motes floating in the air around him illuminated by the warm, natural light streaming in from the window.

SHINJI sat cross-legged on the floor, studying John with a critical eye. After a few long moments of silence, he finally spoke.

"You want to learn the craft of woodblock printing? Why?"

John took a deep breath, then spoke. He explained his passion for the art form, and his determination to learn from the best. He spoke passionately, but respectfully.

SHINJI listened intently, a small smile forming on his lips. After a few more moments of contemplation, he finally nodded his head.

"Very well. I will teach you."

John smiled, relieved and excited. SHINJI stood up slowly and crossed the room, holding out his hand. His eyes twinkled as he spoke.

"Welcome to my studio, apprentice."

I'm expecting a dramatic turn in the further unfolding of this screenplay very soon ...

Jacques, each evening at the end of the day here, I've been 'unwinding' by asking the Bot to give me the next installment. I have to 'jog' it with what we have learned so far, because it doesn't 'remember' the previous outputs, but so far, it seems to be staying quite on track.

In case you hadn't noticed, the 'love interest' appeared in Scene 3 ...

... but - while writing the above - failed to see that Screenplay Scenes 3 and 4 were already available!
