Simply put, my experience with YouTube comments has been incredibly positive. Each video has a 'Like/Dislike' button choice for the viewer to click, and mine are running at: 92,416 likes and 1,155 dislikes ... Can't please everybody!

As for the comments that have been left, these have been overwhelmingly positive - embarrassingly positive! And sometimes, they just seem over the top ...
