Opening the 'Back Room' ...

I got an email yesterday from somebody who bumped into the Mokuhankan page, coming from a Google search. I knew that Google would pick it up eventually, even though it isn't linked-in from anywhere else; I was hoping that I would be able to 'open' it up before I got 'caught'.
No big deal, as I doubt very many people will find it even so ... but it led to something else ...
I was curious if there was other traffic, so I downloaded and browsed through the server logs for the past few weeks. Seems only a very few visits from 'outsiders', but what else I noticed was how many repeat visits there were from the group of friends/testers - seems you guys are checking-in any number of times a day to see if there is anything new here!
I think I would be doing the same thing too - the RSS/Atom feeds only show new posts, not new comments (I can see no practical way to fix this), so you have to keep checking back to follow the threads.
But it does show, I think - that at least among this little group - there is a real interest in what is going on here. You want to see what is going on, and you want to be involved ...
So, just for fun mostly, I thought it would be worthwhile to try and make it easier for you to have content to find when you do check back. I've just set up a new Category for posts: 'The Back Room'. This is the 'off-topic' section of the site, where collectors/friends/designers can post and chat with each other. To help keep 'noise' off the main Conversations area, posts made to the Back Room will not appear on the main front page like normal posts (although they will be on the feeds), but they will be listed in a separate column of the Table of Contents of the Conversations, and will also be accessible through the Category selection links on the right sidebar of the front page.
Anybody who has been given a login ID/Password combination is welcome to post there. So ... I'll try and keep a good level of 'normal' content coming on this website; if you want more than that, over to you! What would you talk about if given the chance to 'meet' other print enthusiasts ... ?
