Description
The original Japanese title is ‘Ogi-no-seiran 扇の晴嵐’. The word ‘seiran’ means ‘strong wind in summer’ or ‘wind from mountains in clear weather’
The woman on the left is shielding the strong summer sunlight by holding her fan, while the other woman - her servant judging from her outfit - is turning her head to keep away from the gusty wind.
