In fact, Shinobazu Pond is perhaps the most beautiful spot to see such an incredible number of lotus flowers. This design shows how the lotus roots are being harvested after flowering. People wade into the water to pull out the roots, which is an essential part of the maintenance of the lotus pond. The buildings in this design include the Shinobazu Bentendo Hall, which is still located in the center of the pond. There also used to be teahouse, which was perfect for lotus viewing, but it has been demolished a long time ago. This version is a post-war reproduction by Yuyudo.
