Description: From the series Famous Views of the Eastern Capital in a Fashionable New Form. This print depicts a Japanese wagtail perched on top of a wooden mast. The title indicates that the river behind is the Sumida River, some houses and a small hill are part of the background landscape where a nice pink bokashi (gradation) indicates that the sun is setting.

This print was originally published as a diptych, and there was another print to the right depicting a swallow at the Shinobazu Pond. You can see the details on the NHK world's website.

This particular print is a post-war reproduction by Adachi Company.
