Item from the Mokuhankan Flea MarketImperial Palace in Kyoto![]() Size: 26.0cm by 36.0cm (10.24 in by 14.17 in) | Enlargement | Shipping Code: [L] ? Designer: Suzuki Shonen Era: Meiji | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: ![]() Description: This print entitled “Imperial Palace” is from the color woodblock print book : “Album of Famous Places in the Capital, from the Past and Present, a Collection of Famous Artists’ Paintings” (Gosho, Miyako meisho gafu, kokon shomeika zuga) ca. 1894. (Reference: Library of Congress). It presents a serene view of the Imperial Palace in Kyoto, partially veiled behind a canopy of cherry blossoms in full bloom. The roofs of the entrance buildings, visible on the left, provide a subtle architectural contrast to the soft organic forms of the flowering trees. The delicate color palette, dominated by muted greens and grays allow the vivid pink cherry blossoms to take center stage. This print has a fold in the middle and slight creases. ![]() ![]() Browse thumbnail pages of various selections from the catalogue ...
