Description: From the series "Eight Views of Edo" depicting a houseboat on the Sumida River and Ryogoku Bridge. It is an interesting composition in which the viewer appears to be looking through an entrance or round window - perhaps the window of a ship anchored in the bay, or through a telescope. The influence of the one-point perspective of Western painting can be felt, giving the scene a sense of depth.
