Hiroshige captured the terrific movement of the waves whirling at Naruto in Awa (currently Tokushima prefecture). As a landscape print with movement from the waves, it stands out among the series "Rokujûyoshû Meisho Zue" (Famous Places in the Sixty-odd Provinces [of Japan]).
