Item from the Mokuhankan Flea MarketMt. Fuji under Clearing SkiesSize: 22.5cm by 30.0cm (8.86 in by 11.81 in) | Enlargement | Shipping Code: [L] ? Designer: Katsushika Hokusai Era: Early Showa | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: Description: This print is part of Hokusai’s '100 Views of Mount Fuji' series, originally designed in black and white and later coloured by the Takamizawa Company. The original name can be translated as 'Fuji Under Clear Skies' (Kasei no Fuji), which at first might seem to be a peculiar name considering the obvious clouds prominent in the sky, but which makes more sense when you know that specific kanji characters have no tense associated with them. ‘Fuji Under Clearing Skies’ is perhaps a more appropriate translation.
