Description: This print is from the set, 日本水墨画名品集 (Masterpieces of the Japanese ink painting), published by Tanseisha, a Kyoto-based publisher, probably in the 1980s or 1990s.

This print is considered to be one of the earliest ink paintings by Sotatsu. The nuances of the original, such as the lotus flowers being soft but the leaves and stems strong, and the waterfowls floating softly on the pond, are expressed very delicately in the woodblock print.

Note: it may be hard to tell from the web page, but this print is large - almost double the O-ban size. Please check the dimension indicated at the top.

This print has a few slight creases.
