Item from the Mokuhankan Flea MarketAutumn LandscapeSize: 56.5cm by 41.0cm (22.24 in by 16.14 in) | Enlargement | Shipping Code: [XL] ? Designer: Sesshu Era: Post-war | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: Description: This is one of the "Masterpieces of Japanese ink painting" (日本水墨画名品集) published by Tanseisha probably in the 1970s or 1980s. The original ink brush paintings, which express the depth of nature in a world of limited ink colors, were turned into woodblock prints with dozens of impressions by master printers. This design is one of the four paintings which each depict a different season. The landscape is an interesting combination of earth, water, and the sky. In the background are a few very subtle shapes that form mountains in the distance. The straight bold lines and sharp angles are very typical for Sesshu and show both the sharpness and balance of nature. Note: it may be hard to tell from the web page, but this print is large - almost double the O-ban size. Please check the dimensions indicated at the top. This print has slight creases.
