Designer: Kitagawa Utamaro Era: Post-war | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: ¥ 9,000$ 68.00£ 53.50€ 64.50 Description: This print, part of the series "Perspective Bridges Judged through Parent's Moralizing Spectacles," portrays a young beauty engaging in a simple yet graceful act—tying a string around her wrist. With one end of the string held between her teeth and the other pulled by her hand, she delicately tightens it. Her elaborate hairstyle is adorned with hair accessories, reflecting the careful attention given to feminine adornment during the Edo period. Her outer robe, draped down to her waist, reveals her kimono underneath, which is further enhanced by a charming pink collar and a fan motif. The upper left area contains both calligraphy and the design of a pair of glasses, inside which the title of the series is cleverly inscribed. This symbolic inclusion of "parental spectacles" hints at the series' moralizing theme, subtly suggesting the ways in which youthful behavior is scrutinized through the lens of parental expectations. This print is a reproduction by the Adachi Company. This print has a few slight spots.
