Description: This is the right sheet of a diptych showing five women enjoying the outside cool breeze next to an iris pond. This scene shows two of them, one of them is kneeling down to pluck an iris at the water’s edge. The other woman is standing next to her and looking down entertained by her actions. She wears a hat to protect herself from the sun and holds delicately a fan in one hand.

The water waves are delicately and skillfully embossed as the ornament detail of the kneeling woman’s robe that emulates them.

The irises, with their vivid colors, stand out against the peaceful backdrop. The graceful poses of the women and the careful attention to detail make this a captivating and peaceful portrayal of a summer day spent enjoying nature.
