Description: This print depicts children offering an enormous ema to a shrine. Dated "Ansei 2" (1773), the ema hints that this print, along with the rest of the "Children and Duodenary Animals" series, may have been completed in that year.

Ema are wooden tablets on which people write their wishes or offer thanks at shrines or temples. While individual offerings are often small, such as postcard-sized, larger ema are sometimes commissioned by groups and painted by artists.

This version is a reproduction published by the Adachi Company.
