Description: The poem means, "In the dawn of a quiet village in autumn, I heard a wild monkey's voice, which echoed through the deep mountain gorge." On the contrary, this print depicts a disgruntled monkey who is tied up with strings and deprived of his freedom. It's an interesting contrast between the monkey's appearance and the graceful landscape of falling cherry blossoms.

This particular print is a post-war reproduction by the Adachi Company.

There is a trace of glue removal at the top of the backside.
