Designer: Katsushika Hokusai Era: Late Showa | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: Description: This print is from "Famous Places of the Province", published by Kaiseisha in 1981. It consists of 19 prints from two series by Katsushika Hokusai: 11 prints from "Famous Bridges in the Provinces" and 8 prints from "A Tour of Waterfalls". The use of a bird's eye view, making the print resemble a map, allows Hokusai to depict both bridges at the foot of Mt. Tenpō in this work. With hardly a cloud in the sky and the sakura trees in full bloom, the day is perfect for a walk up the mountain, and we can see many people doing just that in this print. There are a few slight foxing spots in the lower left area.
