Description: This reproduction triptych was published as part of three triptychs 'Ukiyo-e Masterpiece Collection Prints' by Kyoei-do sometime in the post-war period.

It shows three women in three different seasons: Winter, Autumn, and Spring. Each sheet has a feature in the design that represents those seasons: for example the snow, the moon, and the flowers.

The left sheet, the Winter, shows a beauty standing inside a tatami room. She is delicately closing the bamboo blinds while looking down at her mischievous dog. The shoji door is open showing the outside terrace where a snow-capped pine is standing behind.

The middle sheet shows a beauty sitting inside her tatami room. She is writing a letter while observing the full moon in a dreamy way. The maple leaves in the left lower part remind the Autumn season.

The right sheet shows a standing beauty observing a small cherry blossom tree that is inside her tatami room which reminds the Spring season. More cherry blossom flowers coming from a tree outside are visible behind, all the flowers work as points of light for the whole design.

This triptych shows Shunsho’s skill for fine details especially in the clothes patterns and objects’ textures as well as his ability to design very elegant and slim figures that remind porcelain dolls.
