Description: 36 Views of Mt. Fuji is an extremely well-known series. What started as 36 works later grew to include a total of 46 images, containing some of the most recognizable works Hokusai ever designed. It was published c. 1830–1832.

The print depicts a view of Mount Fuji from the Katakura tea plantation in Suruga Province. We can see groups of people picking up tea leaves, some men are stuffing tea leaves into a basket, and one man is trying to coax a horse across a narrow plank bridge. Then, the tea leaves already picked are taken to the workshop where they are steamed and hand-rolled. Hokusai skillfully portrays in great detail and with accuracy what a tea plantation was like in those days.
