Description: 36 Views of Mt. Fuji is an extremely well-known series. What started as 36 works later grew to include a total of 46 images, containing some of the most recognizable works Hokusai ever designed. It was published c. 1830–1832.

This print depicts Lake Suwa. Hokusai was captivated by the atmosphere of the lake in the tranquil landscape and captured this moment of stillness. Mount Fuji is modestly shown in the far distance. Also, a modest human presence is the fishing boat in the left part of the lake but there are no other signs of human or wildlife activity around. Under a forked tree, a straw-thatched hut stands in the center of the print on top of a small hill, surely the view of Mount Fuji was stunning from this spot.
