Description: 36 Views of Mt. Fuji is an extremely well-known series. What started as 36 works later grew to include a total of 46 images, containing some of the most recognizable works Hokusai ever designed. It was published c. 1830–1832.

Surugadai was a famous scenic spot area where interesting views of Mount Fuji could be seen. The snow-covered peak of Mount Fuji stands out against the soft pink sky announcing the dusk. Some travelers and pedestrians walk along the road, among them we can recognize a pilgrim, a samurai followed by three attendants …

Some town houses roofs are peeking out beneath the green foliage and the yellow grass that dominate the scene. All the elements combined bring to life a scene of Surugadai in that time.

There are a few slight foxing spots and a few chiri (mulberry bark scraps) in the middle area.
