Description: This print is from the set "Ukiyo-e Beauties Overseas" (在外浮世絵美人画逸品集) which consists of 12 reprints of bijin-ga (beautiful women paintings) from Boston and Chicago museums collection.

The full title of this very famous nishiki-e print by Utamaro is "Three Beauties of the Present Day" (Tōji San Bijin), but it is also known as "Three Beauties of the Kansei Era" (Kansei San Bijin). The print depicts three celebrity beauties of the time: geisha Tomimoto Toyohina, and teahouse waitresses Naniwaya Kita and Takashima Hisa.
