Description: This charming design is from a series depicting children in a variety of activities (Kodomo Fuzoku), and showing the manners and customs of their daily lives in the Meiji era.

Two young girls are inside a tatami room where they are lighting a firework on a small brazier, they both are very concentrated and attentive to their experiment. We can see a bamboo branch with a full moon outside.

This print shows Shuntei’s skill in depicting finely detailed figures where the colors of their clothes surely stand out against a soft and simple colored background.

This print is backed and has stains and foxing.
