Description: This print, part of an untitled series of Genji pictures published in 1852, depicts a young woman in elegant attire. Standing gracefully, she holds a scroll retrieved from the desk behind her. The title references "Agemaki," chapter 47 of The Tale of Genji, where a poem by Kaoru expresses a longing for connection. The poem reads:

«We knot these braids in trefoil. As braided threads / May our fates be joined, may we be together always»

This print is partly patched and has wormings, stains, and slight creases.
