It was edited by the Meiji-era artist Gessai Fukui. The designs were adapted and redrawn as reduce-scale woodblock prints after the original masterworks by a variety of earlier artists. In this case, the original design is from Tsubaki Chinzan and depicts a pigeon nourishing its squabs. They are nesting in the middle of wildflowers and under a big branch of a cherry tree whose pink flowers are in bloom and whose pink flowers are in bloom and their color adds a note of charm and softness to the whole design. This print has a fold in the middle and a crease in the upper part. It is toned and has some stains but retains nice color for its age.
