It was edited by the Meiji-era artist Gessai Fukui. The designs were adapted and redrawn as reduce-scale woodblock prints after the original masterworks by a variety of earlier artists. In this case, the original design is from Matsumara Keibun and depicts a chinaberry branch with small white flowers in bloom. A charming butterfly is caught in mid-flight flying above the leaves.
