Description: This print is from a set by Hiroshige, titled 'Eight Views of Shiba in the Eastern Capital', which consists of eight places in the Shiba area located in the center of historical Edo (now Tokyo) in Edo. The lack of framed borders and the vibrant use of primary shades is unique to this set compared to the rather dark opaque pigment often used in Hiroshige's landscapes.

Gotenyama located at Kita Shinagawa, was known for its scenic view of the ocean. People picnicking under the cherry blossoms while enjoying the view of the ocean and the geese flying in the sky creates an active composition but with a calm feeling.

A post-war reproduction by Adachi Company.
