Description: This print is part of the series Momo Chidori Kyoka Awase, where beautiful birds are paired with kyoka poems. The series includes prints of thirty different birds species, using elaborate techniques such as karazuri and kimedashi (embossing), and printed with delicate colors.

Here, Utamaro depicted a cormorant (u) and an egret (sagi). The cormorant is sticking his head in the water, trying to catch fish.

This version of the print is a reproduction that was published by Yuyudo at some point after the post-war period.

There is a small dent in the middle.
