The unusual format of two vertical sheets, kakemono-e (hanging picture) that people used as a hanging decoration, was said to have been first made by Kiyonaga. The drum hanging on the second floor indicates that the women are geisha. While a young man selling fan paper is walking below, the six women's eyes are focused on one young man. These particular prints are post-war reproductions by Yamada Shoin. Printer: Hoshino / Carver: Maeda (top sheet), Kuga (bottom sheet) The displayed dimension is each print size.
