Item from the Mokuhankan Flea MarketBeauty Sewing Kimono![]() Size: 35.0cm by 24.0cm (13.78 in by 9.45 in) | Enlargement | Shipping Code: [L] ? Designer: Miyagawa Shuntei Era: Meiji | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: ![]() Description: A very charming design showing a young beauty inside a tatami room sewing a kimono. This showcases Shuntei’s skill for details, the patterns and colors of the clothes she is wearing and sewing really stand out against a more sober and soft background. There is even some silver ink on the red kimono she is sewing, giving a sparkling effect to the whole design. The background shows a Soji door with a palm design, and behind it, we can see the trunk of a tree in the garden. These nature motifs create an interesting inside-outside effect where the interior and exterior spaces are joined together and could even be confused. This print is backed and has some stains. ![]() Browse thumbnail pages of various selections from the catalogue ...
