Description: These prints date from the 1970s/80s, and were made by the Kajikawa workshop, which was hired to produce a folio containing 20 triptychs (60 prints all). They were made at a reduced size (29.5 x 19.5cm) from the original Edo-era prints, which were in the large o-ban format.

This charming triptych depicts a summer party where eight women and one man enjoy the cool breeze by the Shijo Bridge. They dine on a platform built over the Kamo River (central Kyoto), a popular way to beat the heat. We can't help but notice the woman on the right sheet launching a floating firework on the water. The man sits right in the center of the composition, surrounded by the women who interact naturally. The design showcases Kiyonaga's mastery in depicting tall, elegant women, intricate details, and complex compositions.

Please note that the prints are lightly glued to a mat with three windows, and will be shipped with the mat folded.

There is a slight foxing spot at the bottom left of the right sheet.
