Item from the Mokuhankan Flea MarketFall of Aoigaoka![]() Size: 40.0cm by 27.5cm (15.75 in by 10.83 in) | Enlargement | Shipping Code: [L] ? Designer: Katsushika Hokusai Era: Late Showa | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: ![]() Description: This print is from "Famous Places of the Province", published by Kaiseisha in 1981. It consists of 19 prints from two series by Katsushika Hokusai: 11 prints from "Famous Bridges in the Provinces" and 8 prints from "A Tour of Waterfalls". The prints are slightly larger than o-ban prints, giving them a more powerful impression. This print depicts the fall of Aoigaoka, which is located around Toranomon in the current Minato Ward. Unfortunately, that area has become a landfill and the waterfall does not exist anymore. The variation in the patterns used for the three states of the water is very interesting. There is a trace of glue removal at the top of the backside. ![]() Browse thumbnail pages of various selections from the catalogue ...
