The collection "Meiji no Onna" (Women of Meiji) was published in 1977 by Soudosha, and most of the designs were being reproduced for the first time. It was originally made for a kuchi-e (magazine frontispiece), and depicts a woman in elegant kimono holding a fan and looking back at an elderly woman carrying a black umbrella.
