Designer: Ando Hiroshige Era: Post-war | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: ![]() Description: This print is from a set of reproductions of 25 of Hiroshige's lesser-known prints, given the English title "Rare Publication: Selected Works by Hiroshige" by the publisher, O-Edo Mokuhansha. A stunning view of the famous Amanohashidate ("Bridge of Heaven") sandbar in Kyoto Province, from Hiroshige's "Famous Places in Japan" (Honcho Meisho-zue, 本朝名所) series. The use of straight lines (the boats, the strip of land, the birds) is an interesting feature of the print. The original work was produced in 1837. Amanohashidate remains as a popular tourist spot to this day. Printer: Ogawa / Carver: Endo ![]() Browse thumbnail pages of various selections from the catalogue ...
