Description: This print was done by Fukui Gessai, a print artist who did reproductions of historical paintings. This particular print belongs to a picture album of 12 issued by Aoki Suzando in the 1890s after Ogata Korin’s original designs who is credited with reviving and consolidating the Rinpa school of Japanese painting.

Three white chrysanthemums are attached to a bamboo stake suggesting a small garden. In the background, very simple lines evoke some plants as well as a small stream running softly. The water surely stands out thanks to the silver ink used for its design, it has a very beautiful contrast with the white of the flowers while adding brightness to the whole print.

This print is worn, toned, and has slight creases but remains nice colors for its age.
