Description: This print was done by Fukui Gessai, a print artist who did reproductions of historical paintings. This particular print belongs to a picture album of 12 issued by Aoki Suzando in the 1890s after Ogata Korin’s original designs who is credited with reviving and consolidating the Rinpa school of Japanese painting.

This scene can be the illustration of a poem for December as its Japanese title says (it's probably read 定家卿十二月歌意ノ図 , Picture of Fujiwara no Teika’s December Poem). The houses are under a willow tree and surrounded by some bamboo branches. The charming and interesting detail of the bird perched on one of the branches adds life activity to the scene and suggests the viewer imagine its song.

This print is worn, toned, and has slight creases but remains nice colors for its age. Also, there are a few wormholes in the top right corner, and a small grey spot is in the middle left area.
