Item from the Mokuhankan Flea MarketRaging Sea at ChoshiSize: 22.0cm by 30.5cm (8.66 in by 12.01 in) | Enlargement | Shipping Code: [L] ? Designer: Katsushika Hokusai Era: Early Showa | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: Description: This print is from the series of 10 prints titled 'Chie no umi' and published by the Takamizawa Company in the immediate post-war period, as part of a very large set of Hokusai reproductions. The original title has a bit of a double meaning, using the kanji for 'One Thousand Pictures of the Ocean' (千絵の海 ); however, when it is read aloud it can also be interpreted as 'Oceans of Wisdom' (知恵の海). This print has slight creases. Our sharp top-light has made the waviness stand out vividly; it's actually not quite so disruptive ... Also, there are a few slight foxing spots in the upper left area.
