Description: The artist of this print, Momokawa Shiko (百川子興), is more commonly known as Eishōsai Chōki (栄松斎 長喜) and is famous for his illustrations of beautiful slender women (bijin-ga) with atmospheric backgrounds.

This print's title, "Osan Mohei" (おさん茂兵衛), is the common title of a series of literary works based on an adulterous incident that occurred in Kyoto in 1683. This illustration expresses the lovers' profound sorrow through their poses, especially in the delicate hand movements.

A reproduction published by Ishu Kanko-kai and produced by Kajikawa Kobo probably in the late 1980s or early 1990s.
