Description: Ono no Komachi, a poet from the Heian period, was also well known for her beauty, and has many anecdotes such as Nana-Komachi (seven Komachi).

Parrot Komachi is one of them; when the old Komachi visited Ouchi (The Imperial Palace), the wives there wrote a poem to her to test if she was the real Komachi. Komachi repeated the poem like a parrot, which is why Komachi was given the name Parrot Komachi.

It is not clear which part of the anecdote mentioned above is being expressed by this composition in which an older woman is accused of something by a young girl.

Published by Ishu Kanko-kai and produced by Kajikawa Kobo probably in the late 1980s or early 1990s.

There are slight creases mainly at the right edge of this print.
