From left to right, the beauties are Wakamurasaki, Matsukaze, and Utagawa. They are all kneeling beside a small lacquer stand. Wakamurasaki and Matsukaze are holding a slender pipe, while Utagawa is holding a letter and a brush. What makes this print unique is its background featuring a spectacular phoenix or a rooster whose feathers are multicolor and its curved lines give a lot of movement to the whole composition. The details of each kimono pattern are also a remarkable characteristic of this rare design. Published by Ishu Kanko-kai and produced by Kajikawa Kobo probably in the late 1980s or early 1990s. The displayed dimension is each print size.
