Description: This print is from the series, 日本木版画粋 (Masterpieces of Japanese Woodblock Prints), a collection of reproductions of various themes and designs published around 1924. The print quality is excellent (for most of the prints) and there are almost no traces of baren on the back, so we assume that it was at least partially machine printed.

This landscape depicts a village on top of Asakuma Mountain. Some rooftops are visible on the front as well as two tea houses, one on each side of the picture. There is a lot of human activity; some people are coming from the mountains to enter the village, others are resting inside the tea shops, pilgrims are carrying their packages, and women are walking with their umbrellas …

A row of mountains extend until the sea of Ise Province where some white sails float on the water. Very charming picture with a serene atmosphere where Hiroshige tried to illustrate a day at that time.

There are slight foxing spots mainly at the upper part of this print.
