Description: This print is from the series, 日本木版画粋 (Masterpieces of Japanese Woodblock Prints), a collection of reproductions of various themes and designs published around 1924. The print quality is excellent (for most of the prints) and there are almost no traces of baren on the back, so we assume that it was at least partially machine printed.

A quite charming full portrait of a beauty standing up holding a fan in her mouth, she is delicately grabbing a mosquito net that drapes down gracefully. Even though there is no background, besides the bold color behind, we can guess she is inside a room by looking how loose she is wearing her kimono that shows part of her neck and leg and the futon on the floor.

Special mention to the transparent effect of the mosquito net which shows the skills of the designer, carver, and printer.
