Item from the Mokuhankan Flea MarketBeauty in Spring DressSize: 30.5cm by 19.5cm (12.01 in by 7.68 in) | Enlargement | Shipping Code: [L] ? Designer: Unknown Era: Taisho | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: Description: This print is from the series, 日本木版画粋 (Masterpieces of Japanese Woodblock Prints), a collection of reproductions of various themes and designs published around 1924. The print quality is excellent (for most of the prints) and there are almost no traces of baren on the back, so we assume that it was at least partially machine printed. The print features a woman wearing a beautiful traditional kimono with sakura flowers as principal ornaments where shades of pink and blue dominate the palette color. In one hand, she is holding a toy that has strings as arms with wooden balls as hands at the end. She seems to be having fun by looking at how the toy turns around on its own axis. There are a few slight foxing spots on this print. Browse thumbnail pages of various selections from the catalogue ...
