Description: One of the most famous prints from Hokusai’s celebrated Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji series, published c. 1830–1832.

What makes this print exquisite is its bold composition, placing a large piece of wood in the center. It captures a day of labor, where two men are cutting this chunk of wood, a man on the left side is investigating his saw, a boy in the center is checking the fire. Meanwhile, a woman appears to have just arrived to bring lunch for the workers.

This particular print is a post-war reproduction by the Takamizawa Company.

(this item is swapped with the foxing print to make a full set)
