Description: One of the most famous prints from Hokusai’s celebrated Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji series, published c. 1830–1832.

This design is counted among the excellent works in the series. It depicts Mishima Pass which is located in the mountains north of Mount Fuji. A giant cypress is depicted so large that Mount Fuji looks small. The travelers embrace the tree and express their joy and triumph upon reaching the ancient tree.

This particular print is a post-war reproduction by the Takamizawa Company.

There are a few slight creases at the left edge.
