What started as 36 works later grew to include a total of 46 images, containing some of the most recognizable works Hokusai ever designed. It was published c. 1830–1832. This print shows a view of Mount Fuji from the back side. A feudal lord’s procession is passing along a highway and arriving at a rest house by the road. A line of firearms bearers follow and then another of lance bearers too but these last ones are not visible, their presence is proven only by the tip of their lances that are perceptible above the roofs of the peasant houses. Far away in the distance, we can see the houses of the red-light district, and in the center of the composition, Mount Fuji rises calmly above some low hills. This particular print is a post-war reproduction by Takamizawa company. There is a chiri (mulberry bark scraps) at the right margin of this print.
