Description: One of the most famous prints from Hokusai’s celebrated Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji series, published c. 1830–1832.

Sekiya Village sat upstream from Edo along the Sumida River and was cherished for its clear view, nothing interrupting the view except for a single pine tree. Mount Fuji has a quiet but prominent presence in this work, contrasting the three samurai fiercely riding their horses against the wind, rushing on their journey.

This particular print is a post-war reproduction by Takamizawa company.

There are a few slight foxing spots on this print.
